Day 2 – Wear or Donate

DSC_0398

The aim at the moment is to get one item a day from the ‘wear or donate’ pile into my outfit….. but today it was head to toe/ankle W.O.D! Yipeee. Small victories.

I’ve been wanting a collar for ages now, and in true Pauper style wanted to wait until they went into the sales. I got this one from New Look for just £2 but still haven’t actually gotten round to wearing it. Today was the day! It’s a little bit small and a little bit itchy, but a LOT bit adorable so I’m glad I got it.

Then the shorts are a wintery heavy fabric so I don’t often get the chance to wear them, but today I decided just to brave the cool Autumn day and go for it. Similarly, the fur gilet is tricky to wear because it’s warm but sleeveless. So today is a pretty mixed signal outfit weather wise, but seemed perfect for Autumn.

The pink lace top was featured in my Velvet and Lace post last year, but I haven’t really worn it since so I’m glad to be pulling it out of the wardrobe again now.

Today’s outfit started from the shorts but I was thrilled to be able to include a whole bunch of W.O.D items!

Poppys and old friends

This post features my last new purchase (the mittens) before I started my Lent Clothing Fasting so I thought I’d share it with you guys.

It was a sunny but freezing day so I felt like bringing some colour and cheer and spring shades, but still keeping really warm! I love this cardigan as it always reminds me of my fab friend Courtney who sadly lives a million miles away in America, but let me save this from her charity shop pile. Thank you!!

Splurge Friday…. Fake Fur Coat

See the full post for this outfit here

I got this (fake) fur coat in Boston from a consignment shop. I think I paid $30 which is about £20 – so certainly above my £5 limit. But, at price per wear it must be down to about 10p now as I wear it alllllll the time.

I’ve found adding a fur coat to any outfit immediately makes you look super chic and glamorous, and I’m never one to be fashionably underdressed! Of course, second hand shops are amazing for fur (fake or real depending on what you like) and although things get snapped up quickly, you can often get a bargain.

I’ve also found that its WAY warmer than anything else I’ve got, I suppose there’s a reason animals use it too…. duh! But if I’m ever in doubt about whether I’ll be warm enough, I always take my fur coat.

It’s a must have in your wardrobe I’d say! I’m now constantly on the look out for a second/third one.
