Holiday OOTD – Multitasking a playsuit

holiday_playsuit

It can be tricky to know what to wear on holiday if (like me) you hate being too hot, but also can’t prance around the shops in a bikini. I find a playsuit is a perfect compromise as it’s smart enough to wear to a bar in the evening, but cool enough to wear to shops or tourist sights. Plus it hardly creases in your suitcase and is super light. A packing dream!

I adore the heart print on this playsuit – it is so cute and girly but not too over the top. I generally favour the ‘culottes’ shaped playsuits instead of tight ones as I think it’s more flattering and comfy.

These shoes have become a staple ever since I got them – they’re on a chunky platform so are really comfy (but still make people believe the myth that I’m 5’8″). They’re great on a night out, and a big more interesting than your standard black platform heels.

A week of scarves… Day 4

DSC_0072

This scarf has much more fabric than the other ones I’ve been wearing so far, it feels really luxurious and drapes beautifully. I got it at a fashion show I went to in the Royal Bath Hotel (Bournemouth) organised by South Coast Gems. it was a fab evening and all the sellers there were lovely – it’s always great to meet other entrepreneurs and hear their ideas and experiences. Anyway, this lilac scarf really caught my eye, and when I noticed the print was actually loads of leopards I just had to have it.

80s chiffon leotard

This is one of my favourite modelling shots in a thrifted outfit. It was taken by Andrew Robertson and you can see some of his other portfolio shots here.

The leotard was a real gift from the charity shop karma gods…. I borrowed one off a friend of mine for a shoot previously and then spotted this one in good old Waggy Tails charity shop on Ashley Road and snapped it up!

Black chiffon 80s vintage leotard – £1 – Waggy Tails, Ashley Road

A bargain outfit I think you’ll agree!!

The easiest route to super chic

This week I went a networking event for those looking for employment in the charity sector to pick up some contacts for Find Me Charity (the company I’m starting at the moment!).

I wanted something really really simple, chic and straightfoward that would still be memorable and stylish…. my secret weapons are always a maxi skirt, metal belt, white shirt and cape coat.

  • Maxis are really warm, very comfy and very very stylish so I couldn’t live without mine!
  • I have a couple of white button up shirts and I love to wear them buttoned up to the top with a necklace over the top, or with jeans and a blazer untucked, or of course high waisted.
  • This belt is inspired by the Stella McCartney one (as featured on Gwyneth Paltrow) and there’s plenty of DIY blogs out there to make them too.
